Molcaxac

Lab Status: Planning

Last Update: Installation of laptops scheduled for July, 2013 in L.A.

Molcaxac, Puebla, Mexico has been selected for a future Kids on Computers computer lab. The lab will be in a room adjacent to the town hall, and will also serve as a cultural center.

There are plans to make the lab computers available to kids all week long as well as on Saturdays. The community is already planning to begin computer classes for teachers. Support for Linux and open source software installed in the computer lab will be provided by a local student who also provides support for the City Hall and Police Department.

The space is already setup with tables and chairs, and Thomas has dropped of a few laptops and tablets recently (June 2013).  More laptops and tablets are now being prepared for upcoming transport to Molcaxac.
